I'm a Walking Human Hotbox. Are you?

Hi Yogis!

How was your Sunday? Mine was ridiculously productive. Yay me! We were rather lucky this weekend as my family came down to spend the weekend with the wee one so that we could get a lot of work done. Guess what, we did and Isabella had a blast. Double bonus!

So we had to get together a handful of pick boxes this weekend as well as a couple hundred greeting cards made and wrapped. Thankfully we are both still awake. Not to mention all of the new pieces that I was able to upload to the site today! So excited to launch those new necklaces, you have no idea.

After a rather busy weekend of jewelry and paper, we were able to meet my family for a quick bite. Of course Isabella picked and we went for pizza.

So let's get down to business, right? Are you just like me and always hot? Ask yourself a few questions:

1. What are your snacks?

2. What kind of meds are you taking?

3. Who makes your heart soar?

I suggested these three topics mainly because they are all things that make our temperature rise. Let's think about this once, caffeine raises your temperature so your afternoon latte makes you toasty even if it's iced. Heavy foods do the same thing, so stick to decaffeinated drinks combined with salads and fruit, especially on hot days.

When talking about medications, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs are known to increase sweating, especially as we age. See if you can come up with other options rather than taking those. Hello, natural route!

Then comes your other half. Odds are that you get warm around your sweetheart and that's perfectly normal. Our temperature rises when we are around someone that we are attracted to because we are in a state of adrenaline-pumping physiological arousal. What? It's true! I don't think this is something that we can avoid.

Let's face it, how much we sweat is mostly due to genetics. Other factors that come into play is how conditioned we are to heat and how athletic we are. The more fit you are, the faster your brain triggers sweat production, ultimately making you cooler that much faster.

Hopefully I shared something that you didn't already know and maybe even now you're rethinking your snack routine for tomorrow.

Love & light yogis,

Maria
