Don't Fry-Day!

Summer is here and while we are loving the sunshine, we are not loving the sun burns that come with it. Here are a few ways you can protect yourself from the sun! 1.       Don’t purposefully burn or tan. Getting that first sun burn of the year out of the way is not the smartest way to protect your skin! 2.       Seek shade. Take frequent breaks from being in direct sunlight, especially during peak hours in the middle of the day. 3.       Wear appropriate clothing. Covering your skin with clothing, sun hats, and protecting your eyes with sunglasses are easy ways to stay sun safe! 4.       Apply (and reapply) sunscreen. Check out the Environmental Working Group’s list of safe sunscreens – they release an update every year! 5.       Be safe when near water, snow, and sand. These areas can intensify the sun’s rays so be extra cautious about your sun protection!   For more information on sun safety, visit http://www.skincancerprevention.org/programs/dont-fry-day
