Daydreaming about Santa Monica!
It's Friday Eve! Where have you been all week? Haha. I'm sitting here in the negative temperature, right now it's -1 just in case you were wondering. In these temperatures I have a tendency to daydream about warm, sunny places. The first place that came to mind tonight was my last venture to Santa Monica. I just absolutely love the beach there and walking down to the pier to see the lights at night. I remember the last time that we were there that we had an opportunity to walk down the sidewalk and take some shots of some of my favorite poses. There's something about that background of palm trees that keeps us going back!
This morning when I was teaching I ended up having many new students to my class. They had all practiced yoga before, but many had never come to my class before. I attempted to mimic the flow that I so fabulously loved from my Steve Ross weekend, minus the estimated 115 temperature and mat to mat experience. I can't say that the yogis were loving the thought of holding the poses for such lengthy periods, but I couldn't help but notice that once we got to our apex pose of the day, half moon, that everyone could do it because both their hips and chest were open from the practice. What a sight. I am still taken back by how amazing it was to see that.
I still crave Sugarfish like no tomorrow. I cannot get over how fabulous it is! I remember when we went there this last time that the wait was a half hour and we are not the type of people that like to wait. However that night we were thrilled. I remember saying, "Thirty minutes? That's nothing."
I'm super excited for the next couple days as it will be a weekend trifecta of yoga! We are also meeting with one of friends that I've known since kindergarten and her husband on Saturday night for dinner. I'm excited to tell them about the new jewelry line and to show them the greeting cards since they haven't seen those yet either.
The only not so fabulous thing about this weekend is it's supposed to snow, snow, snow. Typically I don't let it get to me but it's just no fun dragging the princess out in that crazy cold weather. I hate the thought of that wind and snow slapping her face again this season!
