My Go-to Yogi Appetizer!
What a fun week this has been so far and it's coming to an end soon. Since I'm already thinking about the weekend, my mind is wandering to my weekend to-do lists. We are going to a BBQ on Sunday and we have to bring an appetizer. Immediately I thought of my go-to avocado hummus dip since it's light and summery. Plus since we have a few allergies in the group, this accommodates to everyone. For those that are gluten free, they can eat this with veggies or some of those fun chia & flax chips.
Protein, omega 3, and easy to make? You think I'm joking, right? Lucky you, I'm not.
Here are the ingredients that you will need:
- 1 ripened avocado
- 1 cup of cooked & rinsed (1 full minute) chick peas
- 1/2 of a lime
- 1/2 of a lemon
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
- 3 crushed garlic cloves
- 3 freshly minced garlic clothes
Mix everything together carefully and cover with saran wrap so that it doesn't change colors. That tip will keep it fresh.
Eat this with whatever you like. I love it with freshly chopped veggies and those chia tortilla chips.
Such a simple recipe but you will be seeing why I felt the need to share it.
