Bachelorette Party Weekend Recovery, Yogi Style!
Good evening, yogis!
Last weekend I went to Nashville with my girlfriends to celebrate my best friend Tanya getting married! We had so much fun together, not to mention, it’s such an amazing city! The fact that every bar, restaurant, and street corner supplies brilliantly talented live music is reason alone to visit. We bar hopped, danced, went on the Redal Tavern, and laid by the pool. Needless to say, we overindulged on food, drinks, and sunshine… and boy, did essential oils save me.
Southern food is much more rich and heavy than what I’m used to. Mmmm the smoked Gouda grits, charred creamed corn, and okra were out of this world but left me with one hell of a stomach ache! By the third day, we were all feeling the indigestion set in. My friends and I were so happy I remembered to pack my essential oils. We were all adding drops of lemon to our water, and dropping oregano oil under our tongues. These oils work instantly, it's truly amazing. They are the purest you can buy, and the most heavily concentrated. Make sure you’re buying the right kind because if they aren't ingestible, you cannot use them for internal use (email me for more information on this). Within a few moments the tummy aches were gone. Then came the next round of biscuits (gluten free of course)!
I shared a room with my best friends from high school. We've known each other for 13 years. Spending so much time with them was just like old times. Sleeping in the same room with them for three nights was also just like old times, and by that I mean it was not possible to get any sleep. We stayed up late laughing and giving each other crap until we were all crying from laughing so hard. Sleeping wasn't really our priority and falling asleep with so much adrenaline was impossible. We were dousing ourselves and our hotel sheets with my lavender oil. I had to pry my bottle from my friend Nicole’s hand when we were packing our things to leave. When we did decide to try to sleep, we fell asleep fast. When we slept, we slept like rocks. Lavender oil is amazing. It helps calm your thoughts and get restful sleep. It’s like restorative yoga in a bottle.
Speaking of which, I was searching for a yoga mat to borrow to get some personal practice in, and a very kind manager at the hotel brought me to their roof terrace. He also supplied me with a mat and blocks. The view was amazing and perfect; the most serene place to find a quiet inward moment. I put some lavender on my borrowed mat and just took time to breathe.
My trip to Nashville was an unforgettable weekend with my best friends celebrating Tanya's future. We all love her so much for the generous, thoughtful, supportive, loving, and fun friend that she is. I cherish this time spent with these friends that I consider family. They have all since demanded oils from me to take home. I cannot speak for them, but the smell of lavender will take me back to laying in bed and giggling ourselves to sleep after a long night in Music City.
What are your favorite ways to use your essential oils? Please share!
Health & lots of love,
